What does OROS Research sell?
OROS Research supplies high-purity research peptides, amino acid derivatives, and related laboratory materials intended exclusively for in-vitro research applications.
Our catalog includes lyophilized peptides, specialty research compounds, laboratory water products, and other research-use-only materials supported by batch-specific testing documentation.
All products are sold strictly for laboratory research purposes and are not approved for human or animal use, therapeutic applications, diagnostic use, or consumption of any kind.
Where are your products manufactured?
OROS Research products are formulated, sterile filled, lyophilized, and packaged in California using controlled manufacturing processes designed to support quality, consistency, and traceability.
Our manufacturing partners operate under cGMP-aligned quality systems, utilize ISO-classified cleanroom environments, and maintain documented quality management procedures. Finished products are transferred to OROS Research for quality review before independent third-party testing is performed.
Why do you ship from North Carolina?
OROS Research is headquartered in North Carolina’s Research Triangle region, one of the nation’s leading biotechnology and life science hubs.
While our products are manufactured in California, shipping operations are managed from North Carolina to support efficient nationwide fulfillment, responsive customer service, and centralized quality-control review.
How are OROS Research products tested?
As of April 2026, all newly released OROS Research batches undergo independent third-party testing through ISO-accredited laboratories as part of our comprehensive quality verification program.
Depending on the product type, testing may include:
- Identity Verification – Confirms the material matches the intended compound.
- Purity Analysis – Verifies purity levels and helps identify potential impurities.
- Net Content Verification – Confirms vial contents align with labeled specifications.
- Multi-Vial Conformity Testing – Evaluates consistency across multiple vials within a batch.
- Endotoxin Testing – Screens for bacterial endotoxin contamination.
- Heavy Metals Testing – Screens for trace elemental contaminants.
- Microbial Screening – Evaluates for microbial contamination.
- Residual Solvent Analysis – Evaluates for residual solvents that may remain from manufacturing or processing.
While many suppliers focus primarily on purity testing, OROS Research uses a broader testing framework designed to provide researchers with greater visibility into overall batch quality and consistency.
What laboratory performs your testing?
OROS Research utilizes independent third-party laboratories, including ISO/IEC 17025 accredited laboratories, to verify product quality and batch consistency.
Testing is performed independently from manufacturing operations to provide objective analytical results. Certificates of Analysis are made available so researchers can review batch-specific quality data before or after purchase.
Why do you test for endotoxins?
Endotoxins are bacterial byproducts that may interfere with laboratory research, analytical results, and certain in-vitro study conditions. Purity testing alone does not confirm endotoxin status.
By screening for endotoxins, OROS Research provides additional quality visibility beyond basic purity results and helps support more consistent research materials.
Why do you test for heavy metals and microbial contamination?
Purity testing confirms that a compound is the correct molecule and helps identify chemical impurities, but it does not provide a complete picture of overall product quality.
Heavy metal testing is performed to screen for trace elemental contaminants that can be introduced through raw materials, manufacturing equipment, processing aids, water sources, or the production environment. Microbial testing is performed to screen for microorganisms that may be introduced during manufacturing, handling, packaging, or storage.
By incorporating heavy metal and microbial screening into our testing program, OROS Research provides a more comprehensive evaluation of batch quality and greater transparency into the materials we supply.
What does lyophilized mean?
Lyophilization, commonly known as freeze-drying, is a process that removes moisture from a compound to support stability, storage longevity, and handling characteristics.
This process can result in different physical appearances, including a fine powder, compact puck, wafer, crystalline structure, or dense rock-like formation. Appearance may vary by compound, batch, and formulation without necessarily indicating a quality concern.
My peptide looks like a rock instead of a powder. Is this normal?
Yes. Lyophilized peptides may naturally form dense puck-like, crystalline, or rock-like structures during the freeze-drying process. Some batches may appear as a fine powder, while others appear more compact.
These physical differences are common with lyophilized materials and do not automatically indicate a product issue. If you observe anything unusual after laboratory reconstitution, please contact our support team so we can review the concern.
How do the products arrive?
Products arrive in sterilized, sealed vials containing lyophilized research materials. Each vial includes product and batch identification information, and supporting Certificates of Analysis are available through our website.
Products are packed in protective shipping materials designed to help guard against impact, direct light exposure, and ordinary environmental conditions encountered during carrier transit.
Are your products safe?
OROS Research products are intended exclusively for controlled laboratory research conducted by qualified individuals.
To support product quality and consistency, newly released batches undergo independent third-party testing that may include identity verification, purity analysis, endotoxin screening, heavy metal analysis, microbial testing, and other quality assessments depending on the product type.
Because these materials are sold strictly for research-use-only purposes and are not approved for human or animal use, OROS Research cannot make claims regarding safety, efficacy, or suitability outside of legitimate laboratory research environments.

Researchers are responsible for establishing, validating, and following their own laboratory procedures, protocols, and study designs.
When will my order ship?
Orders that are fully paid and approved before 3:00 PM Eastern typically ship the same business day. Orders received after the daily shipping cutoff generally ship the next business day.
During periods of high order volume, holidays, severe weather, or carrier disruptions, fulfillment may take longer. Once your order ships, you will receive a shipping confirmation email with tracking information.
How much does shipping cost?
Shipping rates start at $10 and are calculated at checkout. We offer UPS Ground, UPS 2-Day, and UPS/FedEx Next Day delivery options to meet a variety of research timelines. Orders over $150 automatically qualify for complimentary UPS 2-Day Shipping.
To provide additional peace of mind, every order includes complimentary full-value shipping insurance. In the unlikely event that a package is lost, damaged, or stolen during transit, our team will work directly with the carrier to initiate the claims process and help facilitate a replacement as quickly as possible.
Do you ship with cold packs or temperature control?
No. We do not utilize cold-chain shipping for lyophilized products. Lyophilized compounds are designed to remain stable in a dry, sealed state during normal transit conditions.
Cold packs can introduce unnecessary condensation, moisture exposure, and temperature cycling inside the package during transit. For lyophilized research materials, protective packaging and prompt carrier delivery are typically preferred over unnecessary cold packing.
Cold-chain shipping is generally reserved for reconstituted, compounded, or temperature-sensitive finished materials, which OROS Research does not sell.
Where do you ship?
OROS Research currently ships within the United States only. We do not support international orders or freight forwarding services at this time.
How do I track my order?
Once your order ships, you will receive a shipping confirmation email containing your tracking number. Tracking may take several hours to update after the carrier receives the package.
If your tracking does not update immediately, we recommend checking again later in the evening or the following business day.

We may request photographs of the shipping box, packaging materials, shipping label, and affected items to assist with the insurance claims process and determine the appropriate resolution.
How should I store lyophilized peptides?
Lyophilized peptides should be stored in a cool, dry environment away from direct sunlight, moisture, and excessive heat. For longer-term storage, freezer conditions are generally preferred for many lyophilized research materials.
Storage conditions after any laboratory reconstitution should be determined by the researcher according to their established protocols, study design, and internal laboratory procedures.
Do peptides need refrigeration during shipping?
No. Lyophilized peptides are generally stable during normal shipping conditions and do not require refrigeration while in transit.
Temporary exposure to elevated temperatures during shipping does not necessarily indicate product degradation, especially when the material remains sealed and lyophilized.
Why do different batches sometimes look slightly different?
Small differences in appearance between batches are normal and can occur due to variations in the lyophilization process, formulation characteristics, moisture removal, fill volume, and how the material settles during freeze-drying.
Differences in color, texture, density, or physical structure do not necessarily indicate differences in quality. Every batch undergoes independent testing to verify applicable identity, purity, and quality standards before release.
Do your products contain excipients, buffers, or stabilizers?
Product compositions vary depending on the specific research material being offered. Some products may contain excipients, buffers, stabilizers, or other formulation components when necessary to support product stability, lyophilization quality, pH control, or handling characteristics.
These components are not the same as preservatives. Preservatives are typically added to inhibit microbial growth, while buffers, stabilizers, and excipients may be used to help maintain the integrity or stability of a specific formulation.
For example, certain materials such as NAD+ may require formulation support to help maintain stability and consistency. Researchers should review the product description, product label, and associated Certificate of Analysis for the most accurate and current product-specific information.
Where can I find Certificates of Analysis (COAs)?
COAs can be accessed in several locations, including the product image gallery on each product page, COA download links located on product pages, and our dedicated COA Library.
Every batch includes supporting testing documentation showing analytical results and quality-control data whenever available. We make COAs accessible so researchers can review relevant batch information before placing an order.
What information is included on a COA?
The information included on a Certificate of Analysis varies depending on the product and testing panel performed.
Common data points may include batch or lot number, identity verification results, purity analysis, net content verification, multi-vial conformity results, endotoxin testing, heavy metal analysis, microbial testing, residual solvent analysis, and laboratory information.
The purpose of the COA is to provide researchers with transparent, batch-specific analytical data that can be reviewed independently.
Are your COAs batch-specific?
Yes. OROS Research provides batch-specific testing documentation whenever available.
Batch-specific COAs allow researchers to review analytical data associated with the specific lot they purchased or are considering purchasing.
